Are you learning or are you procrastinating?
"Procrastination is, hands down, our favorite form of self-sabotage.”
This is a #Lite edition of the newsletter.
Hi hi!
Welcomee to my 20 new subscribers! 🥳 I'm super excited to have you in my little corner of the internet.
Also, yayy, we're at 500 subscribers.Thank you for sharing this newsletter with your loved ones to (hopefully) benefit from 💜
🧠 Core Idea
You sign up for an online program or course. Then another. Then another. Then another.
Then you move to YouTube, you subscribe to numerous channels, save 50 videos to watch later.
Then you move to Google and tell yourself that you're reading articles to learn more about the xyz thing you're interested in learning.
Does this sound familiar?
When it comes to learning new skills, most times we are obsessed with gathering as much knowledge as we can before actually “starting”
And this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
But if this endless learning is a masquerade for your fear of failure and insecurity to not look bad being a beginner THEN there is a problem.
When I first started learning UI/UX design, I struggled with this. I was always looking for resources, books, podcasts, articles, YouTube channels, online communities to get started.
I always told myself “just this last one” “one more and I'll seriously get started”
And this was a problem for me because I already had a lot of great resources and I wasn't doing the actual work of being a designer.
AlhamduliLah, I was able to get out of that cycle and just focus on doing the work, feeling lost, finding answers and just generally improving on my design skills.
So here's my question to you, Are you really learning or are you procrastinating?

🤔 What I'm pondering on;
I’m not a jack of all trades; I’m a master of many. I don’t feel there is anything I can’t do if I want to. — Evel Knievel
"You must retreat from the world long enough to think, practice your art, and bring forth something worth sharing with others. You must play a little hide-and-seek in order to produce something worth being found. — Austin Kleon
No podcast episode today. Last week was really busy for me & because I record every week, I couldn't make time for it. Moving forward though, I think I will follow my friend’s advice about recording several episodes at once. Hopefully that'll allow me to publish consistently.
Also, this was supposed to be in your inbox on Saturday but here it is, Monday evening. Better late than never?
I really want to hack this consistency thing for this newsletter & podcast. Any suggestions or advice?
I hope you have a good week.
Lots of love,
Nusaybah XO
